From March 30 to 31, teachers and students from the College of International Exchange were invited to participate in The Innovation and Development Conference for Talent in Tancheng·China 2023 to “Get Closer to Tancheng”. 12 international students from 7 countries participated in this event, including Morocco, Russia, Yemen and Nepal, etc.

During the two-day event, students enjoyed themselves in the “Doctor’s Lane”, Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop and Human Resources Station in Liuhu Village, experiencing the traditional countryside flavor and getting a comprehensive understanding of rural industrial development. To witness the road of rural revitalization, they visited the “First Secretary’s Choice” Product Exhibition in Tancheng, and had an immersive experience of wood carving, paper-cutting, playing the Erhu and Kusanaagi weaving. Visiting Tancheng Museum helped them to appreciate its history and culture. In the closing ceremony of The Innovation and Development Conference for Talent in Tancheng·China 2023, all international students sang “You Are My Sunshine” and “相亲相爱” together, showing a good spirit.

Taking the event as an opportunity, the College jointly built the Study Base of SDUST (Tancheng) with Tancheng and the Rural Revitalization Study Base for International Students with Liuhu Village. In future, the College will continue to promote the cooperation between the university and the talents in local area to further enhance international students’ realization and comprehension of China, and provide more development platforms for outstanding international students in China.
