I. Insurance
The medical insurance for international students in China is an insurance required by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China for all international students in China. Students who fail to purchase insurance as required shall be withdrawn from the school or not registered. Please pay the insurance in time so as not to affect the normal school study.
1.Insurance Payment
Amount: 800 yuan RMB/per year (if less than one year, payment shall be rendered according to the payment standard set by the Ping An Annuity Insurance).
Duration: From August to the next August.
Venue of Payment: Office J3-102, College of International Exchange
International students reporting to school on time are requested to complete insurance payment within one week of their arrival, while late comers should complete it on the same day of their arrival.
2.Insurance Consultation

If the insured calls 4008105119 EXT 1 for medical consultation due to disease, If the Insured receive outpatient medical treatment because of illness and incur actual and reasonable expenses for medical treatment, Within the insurance time , the daily limitation for outpatients is RMB600. Up to the starting-line ,RMB650,in the insurance time , the insured can enjoy 85% of reimbursement an accumulative amount of RMB20000 Yuan. Kindly reminder: If the insured suffered from critical disease or chronic disease before buying this insurance, the insurer shall be released from its liability to make payments. |

1. If he/she needs to see a doctor due to disease or accident, the insured has to directly call 4008105119 EXT 1 for consulting, diagnosis, medical guidance and precautions for claim. If it is confirmed that hospitalization is required, the insured can apply for advanced payment of medical expense for hospitalization to the rescue company. If the insured is directly hospitalized without recording of rescue company and outpatient treatment (including those whose conditions do not meet the requirements of hospitalization but hospitalized), the rescue company will not be responsible for advanced payment of medical expense for hospitalization. If advanced payment for medical expenses is made without the above procedures, the insured will not be able to get compensation. 2. II. Library Service
The University Library offers services of both books and electronic format files. The maximum loan period for books is two months and loan renewal is available at the counter of the library.
In general, each college has its own library and international students can make inquiries to the college office about its college library service.
All students are required to observe library regulations.
III. Safety Tips
1. Be safety conscious and learn how to protect yourself from danger.
2. Taking care of your valuables, especially your passport, cash and bank card. Remember to shut windows, lock doors and take keys with you when leaving the room. Do not carry big cash with you when out. Learn to discriminate misleading advertising or scam lottery prizes.
3. Mind your personal safety. Be accompanied when leaving the campus and avoid going to unfamiliar places with strangers. Do not swim in the sea or in unfamiliar bodies of water. Avoid outing in bad weather. Travelling or returning to their home country during vacation and holidays, international students are required to make leave-request to the College of International Exchange.
4. Mind traffic security. Observe traffic rules and regulations and choose high-safety vehicles when travelling.
5. Safe use of electricity. Cooking is not allowed in dorm rooms for the prevention of fire hazards, and all use of electric heating or cooking devices is prohibited. Switch off electricity when leaving one’s room. Private power connection is prohibited, so is interconnection of power strips. Do mind your charge pal and cellphone recharging as excessive charging causes accident.
6. Mind food safety. Check the shelf life of foodstuff when buying. Do not eat out-of-date food or moldy food to avoid food poisoning.
7. Handle interpersonal relationship well in a peace of mind and try to avoid disputes and conflicts out of trifles.
8. If you spot suspicious persons or articles in the dorm building, please inform the dorm manager promptly.
9. Report promptly to person-on-duty in case of emergency or abnormalities.

IV. Dining
International students can dine at student cafeterias distributed in the three zones of A, B and C with their campus cards or they can cook by themselves in shared kitchens in the dorm building.
V. Internet Service
International students can apply for a network service via the telecom companies such as China Mobile or China Unicom at C Zone supermarket.
VI. Currency Exchange and Other Banking Service
Yuan (RMB) is the only currency in circulation in the People’s Republic of China. All major banks offer currency exchange service. International students can make transactions with their passports.
Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) has a branch bank south of the University and some ATMs are installed on campus. International students can get services from other banks in the area as well if necessary.

VII. Getting Around
Bus Routes No. 6, 9, 10, 52 and Tunnel Bus Route 1 adjacent to the south and north gates of the University offers convenient transport for nearby scenic spots and downtown area, as well as taxi.
VIII. Holidays
International students are entitled to the same vacations and holidays as Chinese students. Apart from the winter and summer vacations, major Chinese public holidays are listed as follows:

Public holidays and weekends are usually put together. National Day Holiday lasts for seven consecutive days, while the other five holidays are for three days (3-day weekends). Notice shall be given by the College of International Exchange prior to each holiday.
