On March 28, Professor Song Lianyi from School of Oriental and African Studies,University of London(SOAS) came to SDUST for the Chinese language program that has been under planning for some time. A feature of this cooperative program is that students can be provided with language practice opportunities in real workplace. Therefore, during his stay in Qingdao, Professor Song paid visits to several local enterprises and institutes, potential partners for language practice, which include the Sino-German Ecopark, Chengfa Group,Wanbo Compressor Co.Ltd, Qingdao No.9 Middle School, etc.
In meeting with people from enterprises and institutes that he visited, Song made a brief introduction to the history and the development of SOAS, and then talked about the importance of offering practice opportunities to Chinese learing students as there had never been such kind of program before. He hoped that, with this 4-week program, SOAS students could improve the Chinese language proficiency while increasing their knowledge of the Chinese society and Chinese business culture,thus be well prepared for the future career.
