On October 30th and 31st, College of International Exchange held enrollment education in J7-304 and J7-306. It aims to help new students to adapt to the school life and better understand the rules and regulations of the university. All freshmen attended the meeting.
On 30th, Professor Liu Fasheng gave a lecture on how to study in Internet Era. He hoped freshmen could cherish the time in China and study hard. He also emphasized that international students should use various languages as well as computer language to enrich their knowledge and improve their innovation. Furthermore, Chinese teacher Miss Zhang Xiuhua mainly traced the development of Chinese culture. She focused on Chinese characters, arts, food and cultural traditions. She also introduced the different traditions between China and other countries. From this lecture, students felt interested in Chinese culture and eagerd to learn more.
On 31st, the education mainly revolved around the theme of rules and regulations, environmental adaptation, student status management and entry and exit procedures etc. Firstly, International Student Counsellor Miss Yu Yingyuan gave a thorough explanation about registeration and payment, asking for leave, awards and penalties, and scholarships. She encouraged students to study Chinese, participate in activities, enjoy campus life in SDUST and chase their dreams in China. Moreover, Ms Heyu introduced program requirements, course selections and educational administration system. She provided students with a professional guide and a detailed introduction into how to use the system. What’s more, Mr. Chen Chenglong introduced six aspects of accommodation regulations, such as electricity, prohibited electrical appliances, property and room safety check. He emphasized that students ought to obey accommodation rules and keep the dorm environment together. Finally, Miss Dong Xinshuo reminded students that they should pay attention to the expiration of passport, the type of visa (X1 or X2), the process after changing passport, the date of visa expiration.
All students listened carefully to the details. They put forward questions and communicated with each other after the meeting to prepare for the new term.
