On April 16, 2020, the new library of Shandong University of Science and Technology started construction.

The new library is located in the center of Qingdao campus, covering an area of 30,000 square meters, with a building area of 69,981.92 square meters, 57,377.16 square meters above ground and 12,604.76 square meters underground.

The new library is a modern and intelligent comprehensive learning space with the combined functions of information center, culture center, communication center and innovation center. The project is expected to be completed in June 2022. After the completion of the project, the library will become another scenery line of the school. At the same time, it will further improve the quality, level and development space of the university, bring abundant resources for teachers and students, provide high-quality academic circumstance, and strongly promote the construction of a high-level applied research university.
