On April 29th, the College of International Exchange held a Hanfu experience activity for international students at the Qingdaiji Hanfu Experience Certer. Twelve international students from 8 countries including Burundi, Tajikistan, Yemen, Zambia, Congo (Kinshasa), Grenada, Guyana, and Uganda participated in the activity.
At the beginning of the activity, the teacher at the Qingdaiji Hanfu Experience Certer explained to the international students the development history, basic design, and styles of Hanfu dress and their historical significance in different periods of time. Students were given a chance to try on their favorite Hanfu clothing. The students appreciated the beauty and elegance of the gorgeous traditional Hanfu dress as well as the charm of Chinese civilization.
Thousands of years of history have comprised elements of this brilliant culture. Every piece of clothing denotes deep and long-lasting love. This Hanfu traditional experience led international students to "travel back” thousands of years to appreciate and deepen their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
Felicie from Congo (Kinshasa) said:“First I want to thank the school for allowing us to learn more about Chinese culture, by trying traditional Hanfu clothing, makeup, and hairstyling. I learned the different styles and transitions throughout the Tang, Song, Ming, southern and northern dynasty. The outfit I had the honor to wear was in the style of the Ming dynasty. It was such a good experience, the makeup in combination with the hairstyle was very beautiful. I had a great day and an unforgettable experience."
