Northeast Normal University Delegates Paid CIE A Visit

On July 15, delegates of Northeast Normal University (NENU), with Sun Desheng as the Deputy Director from Division of International Cooperation and Exchange and Liu Tao as the Deputy Dean from International School of Chinese Studies paid a visit to CIE. The visit aimed at discussing about the Undergraduate Foundation Program for International Students under Chinese Government Scholarship Program. Mr. Zhang Yawei the Deputy Dean of CIE and other staff members in charge of admission and academic affairs attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Zhang first extended a warm welcome to the guests, and then made a brief introduction to the development of CIE. Subsequently, the two sides had an extensive and in-depth discussion about the enrollment, education and management of the Undergraduate Foundation Program for Students under CSC program, and exchanged the learning and living conditions of three undergraduates who are studying in SDUST after having completed foundation program at NENU. The visitors highly appreciated our college's international student education and management model. Both sides believe that this visit will help to broaden the horizons in work and jointly improve the quality of the foundation program.

In 2010, NENU became the 7th pilot university in China for the Undergraduate Foundation Program for CSC Students, mainly focusing on cultivating students majoring in Science and Technology. Top-ranked engineering programs attract CSC students to study at SDUST. There are broad prospects of cooperation in the Undergraduate Foundation Program for CSC Students between the two sides.
