From May 10 to 14, a group of 24 students from Ansbach University of Germany, led by Prof. Barbara Hedderich, Head of the Economics and Management Department, and Dr. Christian Gebhard, Chinese language lecture, paid a visit to SDUST. Prof. Zhao Xiangdong, Director of the International Office, and Prof. Hou Guisheng, Dean of the College of Economics and Management, extended warm welcome to the visiting guests, hoping the two sides to increase communication and achieve mutual improvement.
During the visit, the Ansbach group had in-depth communication with 30 faculty members and students from the joint education program between the two universities. Accompanied by Chinese students and faculty members, the Ansbach group visited Haier and the Sino-German Eco Park, where a case study of overseas expansion strategies adopted by Chinese and German corporations was conducted. Later on, students of the two sides coordinated with each other and, being instructed by teachers, recorded a video titled Beautiful SDUST in German language, which was then followed by an interesting survey of cultural programs. The Ansbach group also took Chinese and Higher Mathematics classes together with SDUST international students, achieving the first-hand experience of traditional Chinese culture and the SDUST classroom atmosphere.
It is the first time for SDUST to officially receive a German study group of such big scale. Students of SDUST and Ansbach, through communication, have increased their friendship and improved cross-culture social skills. Prof. Hedderich and Dr. Gebhard spoke highly of the scenery campus, course design and the excellent performance of Chinese students, expressing their hope to conduct further exchanges with SDUST and jointly produce more talents for society.
