From May 28 to June 2, the SDUST delegation, led by Prof. Ren Tingqi, President of SDUST, visitedNational University of Arturo JauretcheandLanus University of Agentina, and University of Ansbach of Germany.
At Arturo Jauretche, Prof. Ren and his delegation of three people were warmlyreceived by Prof. Emesto Fernando Villanueva, Prof. Enrique Carrizo, Dean of the College of Engineering, and other senior officials. The two parties reviewed progress made in the past two years and had a detailed discussion over and reachedconsensus on issues including joint education of double degree undergraduates, short-term student exchanges, faculty exchanges,research projects, etc. A cooperation agreement between the twouniversities was signed by the two presidents in friendly atmosphere. The SDUST delegation also paid a visit to thelaboratories, computercenter, university hospital and the Chinese Language TrainingCenter.
At Lanus, the SDUST delegation had a negotiation with seniorofficials of Lanus University. The two parties made a brief introduction to the history and development of its university, anddiscussed about cooperatingin areas of computer science technology, big data, logistics management, transportation, etc. Lanusexpressed its willingness to establish a long-term partnership with SDUST and hoped the an agreement between the two parties could be inked as early as possible, so as to carry out practical exchanges and cooperation. After the meeting, the SDUST visited the campus andlaboratories.
During the visit at Ansbach University, the SDUST delegation participated in the university anniversary. In her speech delivered at the anniversary, President Ute Ambrosius appreciated SDUST for its long time partnership with Ansbach that has been going on for more than ten years. As the representative of sister universities of Ansbach, Prof. Ren was interviewed by the local press. He said that SDUST valued the friendship with Ansbach, wishing a better future for both the two sides. After the anniversaryactives, a third round ofcooperation agreement was signed by the two presidents.
It is the first time for SDUST to visit institutions of higher education of South America, which opened up a new prospect for SDUST’s international exchanges. With the signing of agreements, SDUSTstrengthened its ties withArgentinian and German universities, expanded areas of cooperation, increased friendship, and brought the work of international exchanges and cooperation to a new high.
